Park summer 2

Summer tree 2

This is a cleaned up version of yesterday sketch post. These drawings seem to be well received, but i need to post some comic work at some point. I am a bit mixed up. I am posting comic work at the Oatley Academy, sketchbook stuff on this blog, comic pages on Tumblr. It’s all very confusing. The day job eats in to the blogging and publicity time, as well as the creative time. There is also an exhibition i’m organising as part of the Crouch End Festival.
There are three projects I’ve running at the moment. Necessary monsters 2:3 is nearly completed, which brings it to the half way point. I am also drawing a four page strip for Ink + Paper, that is also near completion. Then there is Rain on Glass, my next comic.
I have no idea why this is being shared.
Have a great weekend.

Reviews

A couple of reviews that has cropped up.

First Tom Murphy reviews Dark Matters.

Dark Matters delivers on its title, and is likely to provide a much richer reading experience than most of the things popping up in your pull-list.

Necessary Monsters is reviewed by Paul Rainey.

I really like Necessary Monsters; it reminds me of Vertigo comics from the early days of that imprint such as Doom Patrol and Shade The Changing Man, but in a contemporary world.

Thanks Tom and Paul.

NM 2.2 – cover ( First draft )

NM2.2 cover

This is a first draft for the NM 2.2 cover. Based on a well known Bond image, with a few tweaks. I am over the half way stage with this book, so it will be finished this year. Then i will be allowed to leave the house for something more interesting than the day job.
This is all being drawn in Manga studio, a great programme for drawing the comics stuff. I have also started using Rescue time, which logs all the screen activity. It’s been fascinating to see how much time I’ve been wasting, that is now converted into productive time.
I have also signed up to Painting Drama busy learning composition. There is an article in this months Imagine FX mag, and you can always check out Chris’s site.
I will blog more about this soon, but after week 7 I have learnt a lot of stuff that has been missing in my process. The eventual goal is to start regular colour work …
